Hello, hello! Globally, everyone’s coping with the coronavirus and the new standard of work. For us, the first half of August was just not that mentally healthy. Returning to lockdown mid-month, we gave gratitude to all we have, and ready to begin again, moved past the mental fog and did the work. While these restrictions can be frustrating, we must find our freedoms. How are you finding yours? This month, we have a delicious pea soup for cold days, a guide to the best sites to shop for second hand (this one is dangerous) and some reading for your mind and body—also your hair!
This simple, beautifully unpretentious pea soup is for every day, for full days because cooking can be straightforward. Either chilled or hot, straight from the blender, this pea is delicious. A cost-effective meal, $7, it came at a time when Trace was needing to consider more carefully her food spending. Meals like this can help you reduce your grocery bill, without compromising with flavours!

A guide to shopping second hand
Buying second hand provides a wonderful opportunity to extend the lifetime of a garment—it’s also less of an investment. You’d be surprised at what you can buy for much less than what you would supporting fast fashion. Much of our wardrobes consist of secondhand finds, so we thought it would be helpful to share what to look for and where to look.

This month, Amandine is sharing the hacks supporting her daily self-care. Luminous skin with Hylamide SubQ Skin facial serum, Snowberry eye serum, reusable bamboo face squares, plus Aloe Vera juice and Nak Hair curl cream for a lustrous mane and balanced scalp. Sometimes our skincare, our hair care routines need plumping, and these cruelty-free, vegan beauty products are up to it.

Pacific islands are not drowning, they are fighting. How to help?
Since Covid-19 locked us into our homes, we cannot strike for the climate, yet climate change continues. Governments, corporations need constant reminders that our future is at stake. At the latest march, the unmissable Pacific islands representation marked us. These small nations are losing everything; still, they are trying to protect their land.
